OSHNA is a state affiliate of NASN. We have a representative that is on the NASN board and is actively involved in many of their committees. The President attends the NASN conferences every year and meets with other State presidents. We encourage our members to attend. NASN provides our conferences with CEUs. We highly encourage our nurses to be certified in School Nurse practice. We also have a link to the NBCSN website.

NASN is a specialty nursing association dedicated to improving the health of children and youth by developing and providing leadership to advance school nursing practice. It establishes quality standards which conform to clinical nursing practice standards. It is committed to provide high quality education and resources to keep nurses informed of the latest trends in school nursing practice. It also benefits school nurses by increasing visibility, advocating for minimum levels of preparation; advocating for manageable school nurse ratios and by providing a forum for discussion of school nurse issues.
